The exhibition ACTION IN THE BOX, discovering the relation between action and its documentation presents the performances of participants of AdA festival em acção. The action, the moment of free expression, caught by camera, will be put inside of the box: the box, as a gallery space called many time white cube, but also box as a TV, computer, or DVD player.

The exhibition in Plano B gallery will be opened for public from March 27th 2008   to April 12th 2008. The opening is also the presentation moment of creations by Cristina Rocha and Areias Movediças. The finissage of the exhibition and of the whole festival will happen as a barbeque with djing and performances inside and outside of Plano B in April 12th 2008 from 21:00 until late night, or soon morning.

Exhibition through the works will explore:

- the relation between direct action and its existence in the digital world.

- the relation between informal space for performance (ex.: street) and space of cultural   

  institutions (ex. galleries, theatres)

- and questions such as : Which is the final artwork ? The action in loco? Or, the video/photography captured during the performance? Are there limits for the manipulation of the recordings (image or sound?)

These ideas will be also discussed in the conference PAST/ACTION/CUT! in April 10th 2008 during the AdA festival in action.
