The festival will happen in streets, squares, parks and beaches of the city of Porto from 10th to 12th of April 2008 everyday from 10:00 to 23:00 in the form of a walking journey.
The program of festival includes more than 30 performances of 48 participants from ten European countries. Part of this event is the conference PAST/ACTION/CUT! concerning past, present and future of performative arts – with participation of professors of performative and visual arts from Spain, Slovakia and Portugal - which will take place in auditorium of Reitoria UP on the 10 th of April 2008 at 18:00. The exhibition ACTION IN THE BOX showing video works that explore the relation between action and its documentation will be already opened in the 27 th of March 2008 in the gallery space of Plano B. The finissage of the exhibition and closing of the whole festival will happen with barbeque, djing and actions inside and outside of Plano B in 12. April 2008 from 21:00 until late night, or soon morning.
We would like to invite you for a journey , exploring city of Porto through the performance interventions of young artists working in field of dance, music, theatre and visual arts. The three days walk through historical center of Porto will be a rediscovering of the city, of its key points like Praça da Liberdade and Batalha, its natural areas, like Jardim do Palácio Cristal and beach in Foz, but also the hidden corners and streets in Ribeira.
The small open-air shows will be for free, and counting with an active audience!
The program is compact and colorful: from building the chair pyramids in the time of one coffee making, to the musical symphony made with 10 kilos of French fries, public challenge for touching nose with your tongue, or a climbing performance of six climbers connected by one rope.
The humorous actions will meet poetic themes like piano concert for ten aquarium fishes, improvised theatre play about traveling, or skiing on the beach of Foz, but also dramatic and social themes as a choreography portrait of Lucrecia Borgia, body expression of domestic violence, or a performance questioning the role of women in society.
